I actually focused on studying the ‘mindonly’ school for a few years and live by it. but my impression is that it’s fundamental to tibetan buddhism because it was one of only two schools at the beginning of the mahayana and influenced everything after. But my teacher defined it as ‘experience only’ instead of mind, which has different implications

  2. I’m fascinated by this mind-only interpretation. I have been studying mostly from a theravada perspective for a few years so I’m not clear on how it works. I wonder, what is it that you find useful about the mind-only school?

  3. It helped me see that mindfulness is the activity of the enlightened mind. So it’s the path and the goal to have the base of your experience be where you ‘only experience’, like in the pali canon quote ‘in the seen there is only the seen’
